Nicole Jean Davis at Daybreak Mill nominated Leafy Greens and Chocolate for the Liebster Award. Thanks Nicole! Liebster means dearest, sweetest, kindest…
The Liebster is awarded by bloggers to other bloggers, as a way to discover new blogs and to make connections.
Here’s how it works:
Daybreak Mill nominated me and asked me 11 questions. I link back to Daybreak, answer the 11 questions and then nominate other small blogs to do the same. I love Q&As so here goes:
Why do you care about your health?
I want to be a healthy old person. I teach a weekly yoga class for seniors. Most of the students are at least 90 years old and it’s very obvious that they can do yoga because they’ve always kept themselves healthy and fit. We don’t have a lot of examples of healthy elders in our culture, but I spend every Saturday morning with a group of them.
What do you think the importance of getting to know nature is?
I’m afraid that we are too removed from nature. We spend our time indoors and in front of a screen. We don’t feel the connection to the planet and without that connection I’m not sure we care deeply enough to save it.
How do you make a positive impact on the world around you?
Sharing yoga helps people. Sometimes people stay after a class to tell me how much they’ve been helped by yoga, physically or spiritually, and that’s always wonderful to hear. I hope that Leafy Greens makes it easier for people to eat kindly and carefully.
What is your main passion in life?
I love to feed people.
What’s your idea of a perfect world?
Everyone is well-fed, warm and content. We are kind to each other and to the other beings that inhabit this planet. And there’s pudding for all.
Why should people care about what kind of food they eat?
What we put in our stomachs becomes the cells of our body.
What is the importance of organic food?
The more we learn about the damage being done to our planet and our health by pesticides, the more we learn about how important it is to return to the old ways of growing our food.
Do you take supplements for your health? Why or why not?
I take a multi-vitamin and iron supplements.
What’s the biggest issue facing our world today?
The health of the planet.
Why do you think there is so much junk on our store shelves?
We’ve forgotten what’s important. We focus on money, so we make and sell things that we don’t need. We buy things that we don’t need.
What’s the best thing a person can do for their own health and well-being?
The best thing I ever did was to slow down.
There are supposed to be 11 I think, but I have end-of-winter brain.
